Leaving on a Jet Plane…

Plane taking off from Bellingham Airport

I’m sitting in the Bellingham International Airport in Bellingham, Washington. They’ve got FAST, free wi-fi here! Yay!

I’m on my way to Palm Springs to play some golf with my girlfriend and my folks. I haven’t been down there for about four years, but last time I went we had a blast. Really, what’s better than golfing in the sunshine during the day and doing a bit of gambling in the evenings?

I’m flying on Allegiant Air for an incredibly reasonable price. The only downside was that I had to leave Vancouver at 3:15am this morning. The good news is that there were no other cars at the border, so it took me less than an hour to get from my home in Burnaby to the Bellingham Airport.

The staff here at the airport have been super friendly and helpful. I’m hoping the flight will be just as good – will report on the flight later this week.

I still can’t get over how great it is to have wi-fi in the airport – it makes waiting for your flight a whole lot better.

  1. Hey Jeremy,

Have a great trip. Thanks very much for the plug for the golf site- I’m sure we’ll be posting fresh content come Spring time…

Talk to you when you get back,

  2. The trip has been so much fun! Highlights include a 76 at Indian Canyon – the first time I’ve broken 80! …and I’ve gotta say the flight on Allegiant was really good for a discount airline.

It’s always a ton of fun hanging out with the folks and we’ve managed to get four rounds of golf in so far…hopefully one more tomorrow. Nicest course so far was SilverRock today – it beat me up though.

  3. Hello Jeremy,

I am so glad you had fun on your trip to Palm Springs! Sounds like you enjoyed the golfing 🙂

On January 21, 2003, I enjoyed my first hole in one. A excited crowd of 5 people came to Palm Springs to watch my golf swing. The day was both hot and sticky. I was starting to think the hole in one was never coming. No wait, I step back and think to myself, “I must focus.” My eye is right on that golf ball. I will get a hole in one! I swing and there it goes; landing 10 feet in the air…..well, you know the story. Oh the memories I have of Palm Springs. Thank you for reminding me.

  4. I’ve been to Palm Springs one time, I would love to go again and take my husband. Playing golf at Palm Springs brings a whole new dimension to the game. This gives me something to plan for, thanks for article.

  5. Hey there, Hope this trip turned out well. I just wanted to say thanks for the Golf Nuts link. It’s a new site for me and I’m enjoying it a lot. British Open is on right now so it has me in the mood to check out my favorite golf blogs. Go Shark.

  6. I went to Palm Springs last year and would love to go their again. We stayed at the “Riviera”. A really old hotel which was a place where movie stars met back in the 50s.
