All things Campbell River…

Time Flies…

Wow! I can’t believe that it’s been over a year since I’ve posted on the blog.

I’ve got a few good excuses, the first being that our first child, Ben, was born on January 1, of 2012. What a life changing experience that was. Watching him grow and learn blows my mind on a daily basis. He’s just past the six month mark and we’ve been having far too much fun with him.

The weather in Campbell River, on Vancouver Island, has finally turned to summer and we’ve been making the most of it playing golf, mountain biking, and doing a little yard work. We’re hoping to get a whale watching tour and some fishing in sometime in the next couple of weeks too!

Bridget and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary on Sunday at Painter’s Lodge. Two years has just flown by…

Maggie the dog is now 3.5 years old, speaking of how time flies, I remember when we first brought her home and she was a mere 30lbs!

Needless to say…we’ve been having a lot of fun over the past year and a half…so between that fun and work, the blog posting has been suffering. What can I say? Time flies…

Happy Back to School Day!

While it’s been a while since I’ve gone back to school the day after Labour Day, I still remember the excitement of new school supplies, new clothes, and the chance to see all the friends I missed over the summer.

I hope all the students are looking forward to seeing their friends and all the teachers are looking forward to getting some paycheques to pay off summer’s fun.

Remember that all those school zone speed limits are back in effect.

Happy back to school day!

Campbell River Twitter Talk 2010 – Resources

Last Tuesday, May 18, Mark Myles, Leah Tremain and I hosted a Twitter workshop at the Campbell River Library.

I’d like to thank Leah and Mark for pushing me to get involved in the presentation because it was a ton of fun and they are both great people. I’d also like to thank everyone who came out for our presentation, I hope it was worth your time.

I mentioned in the presentation that I’d post some links to some of the resources we showed you, so here it goes:

If you’ve got any questions, post a comment below and I’ll do my best to get answers for you.

Brind’Amour Classic Golf Tournament for Cystic Fibrosis

This weekend I’m going to be playing in the Rod Brind’Amour Classic Golf Tournament for Cystic Fibrosis at Storey Creek Golf Course in Campbell River, BC.

We recently completed the Campbell River Cystic Fibrosis website. There’s a list of this weekend’s auction items on the site.

I believe this is the 3rd year I’ll be participating and it’s always been a blast.

Here’s a link to a post I wrote about the tournament in 2006, the year the Hurricanes won the cup.

Erin Wallis will be shooting pictures at the tournament too – so there should be some great shots!
