I was doing a little reading on Wikipedia about Earth Day and it mentions there are two different Earth Days – April 22 and on March equinox – who knew? Learn more about ourEarth Days at Wikipedia.
As I mentioned on twitter this morning…last night I discovered a cool TV show on National Geographic’s HD channel: Big Ideas for a Small Planet. They were having a marathon of all the episodes to date, I think.
I’m sitting in the Bellingham International Airport in Bellingham, Washington. They’ve got FAST, free wi-fi here! Yay!
I’m on my way to Palm Springs to play some golf with my girlfriend and my folks. I haven’t been down there for about four years, but last time I went we had a blast. Really, what’s better than golfing in the sunshine during the day and doing a bit of gambling in the evenings?
I’m flying on Allegiant Air for an incredibly reasonable price. The only downside was that I had to leave Vancouver at 3:15am this morning. The good news is that there were no other cars at the border, so it took me less than an hour to get from my home in Burnaby to the Bellingham Airport.
The staff here at the airport have been super friendly and helpful. I’m hoping the flight will be just as good – will report on the flight later this week.
I still can’t get over how great it is to have wi-fi in the airport – it makes waiting for your flight a whole lot better.
I don’t know about you – but I’m itching to watch the Canucks again. It’s really the only thing I’m excited about going into the winter months (slight overstatement, as I look forward to playing hockey myself, christmas with the family…).
My girlfriend and I love Mexican food but there aren’t a lot of good Mexican restaurants in Vancouver, particularly where we’re living in Burnaby (at least not that I’m aware of).
Last week I was watching Shaw’s channel 4 and they mentioned Mi Mexico Restaurant on Hastings in Burnaby. The show’s host brought a guy into the restaurant and had him try a number of Mexican dishes, which all looked great. The “random guy” said he really enjoyed the food.
Since watching the show, I’ve been wanting to take Bridget there and tonight was the perfect night, no food in the house, it’s right around the corner, she’s home late from work… so I called Mi Mexico twice and the phone just rang and rang. I couldn’t find a website listing their hours of business and being a Monday it’s likely closed. I finally came across a listing on Craigslist that has Mi Mexico’s information. Here’s the blurb they posted about themselves on Craigslist:
Mi Mexico Restaurant offers a Mexican cuisine in a friendly and relaxing dining environment with fresh Homemade Mexican food that you can enjoy. This is the place to go and get authentic Mexican food . Mexican food combines all of these fine cuisines to create some of the best tasting food.Authentic salsas ,we make our salsas fresh and homemade right here in Mi Mexico. We hope you will come to consider us a favorite among Mi Mexico restaurants.

So hopefully Bridget and I will get to Mi Mexico sometime in the next couple of weeks and I’ll have a picture to show and a story to tell. If you’ve been to Mi Mexico leave a comment and let me know how it was.
