Lee Lefever at Common Craft shares a “Classic Lesson on Being Small and Happy“.
When we arrived at our rental house in Mexico, we found well-worn notebook with hints about the town and surroundings. On one of the pages was a story that I had heard before, but for this particular vacation, and at this point in our careers, it had extra meaning.
It’s worth a read…

Amy Rogerson, a good friend and client, recently started her own blog. Shirts From Seed is about being a mother and being in business. Her business is Shirtseed Bamboo and Organic Cotton T-Shirts.
Check out her blog and leave a comment or two to encourage her to get the ball rolling. She’s really passionate about all things ethical and environmental (Yay! We need more of these people in business) and has a lot to say. She’s also a pleasure to debate with.
Best of luck Amy!

Rod Brind’Amour is from my hometown and is really involved in helping Cystic Fibrosis raise funds for research and treatment. I just received an email from the Campbell River Cystic Fibrosis chapter that pointed me to a video with Rod and Kim Black down in Raleigh, North Carolina. They’re at an award dinner for a doctor who’s been researching Cystic Fibrosis for over 30 years. Here’s the video.
Previous mention of Rod Brind’Amour’s involvement with Cystic Fibrosis:

While working I often have a TV on in the background. Today the Knowledge Network was playing in the background and a story was featured on the Working Animals show. [episode: “The Teammates”]
I golf a fair bit and this just blew me away…I’ve seen gas-powered carts, electric carts, push carts, pull-carts, caddies, and even remote control electric carts - but llamas, that’s new!
After a quick Google search I came across a golf course in North Carolina that offers Llama caddies - Talamore Golf Resort. Apparently they’re wonderful animals for caddying because of their demeanor, ability to pack weight around, and the fact that they’ve got soft pads on their feet that don’t damage the golf course.
Who knew?!

UPDATE: CANUCKS 2008-2009 PRE-SEASON SCHEDULE WITH TELEVISED GAMES.
I don’t know about you - but I’m itching to watch the Canucks again. It’s really the only thing I’m excited about going into the winter months (slight overstatement, as I look forward to playing hockey myself, christmas with the family…).
As far as I can remember we haven’t been able to watch Canucks pre-season games on TV before. This year there are two Saturday night games being televised on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific.
Mark it on your calendar and chill the beer:
- Sept 22 vs San Jose @ 7pm
- Sept 29 vs Edmonton @ 5pm
Go Canucks!
